Arrival and Departure

Opening Day

On Opening Day, check-in will take place between 10:00am and 12:30pm. No campers or parents will be permitted to go up to the cabins until 10:00am. Any parents here at 12:30pm will be asked to depart, as we will begin our camp program shortly thereafter. Lunch will not be served to parents or other family members.

If your camper is flying in, or you are interested in learning more about having your daughter fly in, please scroll down to the "Airport Arrival" section.

If, for some unforeseen reason such as traffic, you are going to be arriving late, please contact our office at 828.669.2613 and notify the camp leadership what time you plan on arriving.

What to expect: Please follow the directional signs once you get off the interstate. You will be directed to the back gate at the Ridgecrest Conference Center. Camp staff will direct you through the gate to luggage drop off. Your luggage will be taken from your vehicle and up to the cabin for you. After dropping your luggage, follow the directional signs to our parking area at the Conference Center. You'll then be shuttled to the bus pick-up location at the Conference Center where you'll receive your child's Welcome Packet. This packet includes a letter and photo from your child's counselors and important information about the session. An activity bus will take you up to the tennis courts at Crestridge. Then you'll go through registration on the tennis courts, where you'll confirm skills, speak with the medical staff, and receive a lice check. Once you've gone through registration, you can visit the Beehive (our clothing store) to pick up your pre-order or purchase clothing. After 10AM, you can go to the cabin, help your daughter settle in, and meet her counselors. Once you've got her squared away, there is nothing left that is required for you to do. The activity bus will pick parents up at the Dining Hall to return to the Conference Center. Give her a hug goodbye and have a safe trip home!

If you are staying at the Ridgecrest Conference Center before Opening Day, you'll receive a packet when you check-in with instructions for luggage drop-off.

Closing Day

Please follow the same traffic pattern as Opening Day. The Closing Day schedule is as follows:

7:30am - Back gates open at the Ridgecrest Conference Center for luggage pick-up and parking
8:00am - Shuttles begin to Crestridge
8:30am - Our clothing store opens and the session video will play in the Chapel

Closing Program will be held in the Dining Hall. Campers are not required to stay for this event, as we understand that many of you have a long drive ahead of you, but we do encourage you to stay if possible and your child is interested! Each age group will present their song and chant and it will give you a better understanding and appreciation for their time at camp.

NOTE: There is NO Closing Program for Starter Camp.

Airport Arrivals and Departures

The camp does not assume responsibility for arranging transportation to camp, but we are eager to assist. Consult your airline agent for schedules. Your child will need to fly into the Asheville/Hendersonville airport (AVL). Campers should plan on flying in on the Sunday of Opening Day, and flying out on the Friday of Closing Day.

Campers will be met at the airport if we are notified in advance of arrival times. You may do this by filling out the arrival/departure form online. All luggage should be clearly marked on the exterior for easy identification in the terminal. If your child is young, you may need to use an unaccompanied minor form, so that they will be helped by airline personnel. If you choose to do this, please make sure that you pay for this service, traveling both to camp and returning home as well. Check with your particular airline for rules/regulations concerning unaccompanied minors. Some airlines do not allow younger children to fly alone. If they request a name for the camp person picking your child up, please indicate Sharon Aylestock, PO Box 279, Ridgecrest, NC 28770. You can give them the camp phone number for her number at (800) 968-1630.

Camp representatives will meet each child at the terminal, help gather their luggage, and transport them to camp. The camp will also transport the child back to the terminal upon departure, and will make all necessary luggage arrangements. It's a very easy process as long as we get the proper travel information from the parents.

Here is a helpful suggestion when coming to camp by plane: Since we have so many children coming by plane each summer, we have to transport the luggage at one time during the day. If a camper arrives by plane, her luggage may not arrive until the late afternoon. She may want to carry a change of clothes or bathing suit with her on the plane to have when she arrives at camp.
