Arrival and Departure

Opening Day

On Opening Day, check-in will take place between 10:00am and 12:00pm. All campers will be dropped off while parents remain in the car. Parents will not be allowed to come into camp with their child. We understand that this is hard for parents, especially those with new or young campers. Please know that our team will do our best to create a welcoming and fun environment to make all campers as comfortable as possible, even those who are here for their first summer at camp. She will quickly feel right at home!

If your camper is flying in, or you are interested in learning more about having your daughter fly in, please scroll down to the "Airport Arrival" section.

If, for some unforeseen reason such as traffic, you are going to be arriving late, please contact our office at 828.669.2613 and notify the camp leadership what time you plan on arriving.

What to expect: Please follow the directional signs once you get off the interstate. You will be directed to the back gate at the Ridgecrest Conference Center. Before you enter the gate, our camp staff will take your camper's temperature, collect the required forms, and give you your Welcome Packet. This packet includes a letter and photo from your child's counselors. Please read our Camp Crestridge COVID Guidelines for more information about the required forms. Camp staff will then direct you through the gate to luggage drop off. Your luggage will be taken from your vehicle and up to the cabin for you. After dropping your luggage, follow the directional signs to the camper drop off location. Camp staff will be waiting to meet your camper and walk her through the next steps. She will have the opportunity to change skills and have her lice check if needed. Then, your camper will be shuttled to Crestridge where our staff will help her get to her cabin. One of her counselors will be there to meet her and help her get unpacked.

If you are staying at the Ridgecrest Conference Center before Opening Day, please follow the same instructions as above.

Closing Day

Please follow the same traffic pattern as Opening Day. The gates will be open from 10AM-12PM.

What to expect: Please follow the directional signs once you get off the interstate. You will be directed to the back gate at the Ridgecrest Conference Center. Before entering the gate, our camp staff will ask to see your ID so we can verify you are the one who is supposed to pick up your child. Then, our camp staff will direct you through the gate to luggage pick-up. Your luggage will be loaded into your vehicle for you. After getting your luggage, follow the directional signs to pick up your camper. If your camper is in a Lower Village (finishing 1st-5th grades), you will be directed pick up your camper in the same location as drop off on Opening Day. If your camper is in an Upper Village (finishing 6th-11th grades), our camp staff will direct you to the Crestridge Dining Hall where your camper will be waiting.

*If you have a camper in a Lower and Upper Village, both campers will be in the Dining Hall at Crestridge.

Starter Camp

On Opening Day, check-in will take place between 10:00am and 12:00pm. Follow the directional signs to Crestridge. Parents will not be able to exit vehicles. Camp staff take your camper's temperature and check required forms from inside your vehicle. We will then take your camper's luggage straight to the cabin. Our camp staff will take your daughter to her cabin where she can start unpacking and meet her cabinmates and counselor. Campers will eat lunch at 12:30PM.

If, for some unforeseen reason such as traffic, you are going to be arriving late, please contact our office at 828.669.2613 and notify the camp leadership what time you plan on arriving.

On Closing Day, the gates will be open from 9:00am until 11:00am. Follow the directional signs to Crestridge. Please arrive by 11:00am, as we will begin shutting down camp for the season at that time. There is no closing program for Starter Camp.

Airport Arrivals and Departures

The camp does not assume responsibility for arranging transportation to camp, but we are eager to assist. Consult your airline agent for schedules. Your child will need to fly into the Asheville/Hendersonville airport (AVL). Campers should plan on flying in on the Sunday of Opening Day, and flying out on the Friday of Closing Day.

Campers will be met at the airport if we are notified in advance of arrival times. You may do this by filling out the arrival/departure form online. All luggage should be clearly marked on the exterior for easy identification in the terminal. If your child is young, you may need to use an unaccompanied minor form, so that they will be helped by airline personnel. If you choose to do this, please make sure that you pay for this service, traveling both to camp and returning home as well. Check with your particular airline for rules/regulations concerning unaccompanied minors. Some airlines do not allow younger children to fly alone. If they request a name for the camp person picking your child up, please indicate Sharon Aylestock, PO Box 279, Ridgecrest, NC 28770. You can give them the camp phone number for her number at (800) 968-1630.

Camp representatives will meet each child at the terminal, help gather their luggage, and transport them to camp. The camp will also transport the child back to the terminal upon departure, and will make all necessary luggage arrangements. It's a very easy process as long as we get the proper travel information from the parents.

Here is a helpful suggestion when coming to camp by plane: Since we have so many children coming by plane each summer, we have to transport the luggage at one time during the day. If a camper arrives by plane, her luggage may not arrive until the late afternoon. She may want to carry a change of clothes or bathing suit with her on the plane to have when she arrives at camp.
