Marie Duncan
CounselorNew Staff
This is Marie's first summer at Camp & she cannot wait to be here! She is so excited to be used by God to help campers grow in their faith and knowledge in Christ!
If you were a pasta shape, what would you be and why?
I would be alphabet pasta because I am in the works of becoming a teacher!
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
I would have to say the top three things on my bucket list are taking a cruise to Italy and other countries, see the northern lights with my own eyes, and having a meal with one of my favorite artists (Michael W. Smith).
If animals could drive, which animal would be the best and why?
If animals could drive, I think the coyote would be best! Coyotes are not as color-blind as the average household dogs. They can see the green and red of the stoplights really easily. The only thing that would possibly be a distraction is their sense of smell. One good smell, and they might go off-roading!
What's your favorite Bible verse and why?
My favorite verse is Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven." This verse serves as a reminder to myself that my attitude and determination toward everything should be a reflection of God's love. As a future educator, its even more important to make sure my light is one of discovery and not one of harm.
What are you praying for in anticipation for this summer?
I pray that the campers ' hearts will be receptive to the wise counsel that staff and speakers give throughout the summer. I am also praying that the weeks when the campers are here are a time for them to get away from societal pressures and cultivate friendships that can last a lifetime. I pray that they can be themselves and discover the talents God has gifted them.
